It all started on the 6th day of March, 2009 by a group of  professionals who voluntarily came forward in establishing the organization SAIL FOUNDATION to work with the grassroots initiatives for effecting positive changes in the lives of downtrodden communities.

Regular education programmes on health, environment and sanitation to the school children, youth and women of the villages; skilled entrepreneurship development programmes like bee keeping, cattle rearing and rabbit rearing through local resources  and supplementary education for the school going are the main objectives of the foundation. Frequent training camps for youths who are subjected to much vulnerability, conducting non formal education, rally awareness about child labor, programmes for women and children on personal hygiene and sanitation, conflict management and seminars by individuals and spiritual leaders to reflect their positive views to the public are being organized and conducted regularly. 

 

Legal Aid programs are conducted in coordination with Taluk legal service in poor villages of Theni particularly to the women and the students. SAIL FOUNDATION in network with other NGOs and collaboration with regional, national and international network human rights activists and government agencies like ITCOT, DRDA, APAC, KIN network etc. hosts several other social projects for the poor and the needy. 

 

Comprehensive grass-root initiatives and projects which focuses on the social empowerment are also taken at hand. SAIL FOUNDATION for the betterment of the above-mentioned activities works with more flexibility  through integrated approach, working strategies, proper planning and decision making in implementing the projects.​

Our faculty has handled various regional, national and international programs with the expertise from the  executive committee members in the fields of medical, legal, environmental and social developmental areas.

In these endeavors SAIL FOUNDATION visualizes a future society, where peace justice and respect for the individual prevail through people's empowerment and emancipation.
